SAN FRANCISCO.

Lombard Street.

By Lauren Matthews

One of the world’s most famous streets is a San Francisco icon.

Lombard Street
Russian Hill

It may not be on the top of your list to visit a street when travelling to a new city. Having said that, Lombard street is rather famous. The steep street is famed for its eight hairpin turns. While I sympathise if this characteristic doesn’t excite you,  know that from Lombard Street the neighboring Coit Tower will give you the best views of the Golden Gate Bridge, The Bay Bridge, the city and beyond. It really is quite magical.

I think the number one reason to visit this beautiful lane, however, is that you will now be able to say “it has more twists and turns than Lombard Street” when explaining the story behind how you mysteriously woke up in Mexico. Even if the last thing you remember was having a quiet drink down at the San Francisco pier.
