Blue Bottle is one of the major shrines on the San Francisco coffee circuit. In 2008 they turned heads when they unveiled a halogen powered siphon bar.  The staff are well versed, the single-origin coffee changes weekly, and there’s never a Blue Bottle too far away, whether you’re sightseeing at SFMOMA or the Ferry Building. My pick of the bunch is their Kiosk in Hayes Valley. It is a completely different experience than what you get from one of the formal cafes. Of course the mission of providing the highest quality coffee is the same, but the vibe, pace, and delivery differs drastically. Grab a coffee and explore the neighborhood, sit in the park and listen to live music or go shopping in one of the many cool stores in the area.
