Tucked away off the main drag, Sketch is a special place to seek refuge from the nauseating experience that is Oxford St. Take a seat in one of the many establishments, a favourite is the Gallery, of which the interior has recently been overhauled by India Mahdavi in collaboration with David Shrigley. The original multi coloured interior filled with mismatched furniture has been replaced by powder pink velvet seating with accents of gold, and walls covered in sketches by Shrigley. The Glade room is also another highlight – 50s rattan furniture is set amongst a backdrop of a découpage forest by Carolyn Quartermaine and Didier Mahieu and it really does feel like you’re sitting in an enchanted fairy-tale woodland. There’s a total of five dining establishments within the building, so whether you’re after brunch, lunch, high tea, dinner or cocktails – it should definitely be on your hit list when visiting London. (and if you’ve seen the many Instagrams of the egg-shaped bathroom pods – this is the spot)….
