When I came to Japan I naïvely thought it would only be for a couple of years. Almost a decade later I'm still here, and Tokyo is very much 'home'. A self confessed sake maniac and lover of Japanese cuisine, I set up Ichi for the Michi as means of documenting some of my adventures prowling the Tokyo's streets in pursuit of the best food and libations that the metropolis has to offer. A natural progression from this is my work as a Tokyo 'fixer' for international chefs, restauranteurs, journalist and gastro-travellers who are eager to explore the city's glorious culinary landscape. My free time is devoted to such unglamourous pursuits translating Japanese sake articles, hours of "research" in specialist sake izakaya, and geeking out with like minded bon-vivants. It's a charmed existence - and I owe it all to this compelling city and it's charitable characters.
