Nikau is a Wellington institution; their menu has some staples that are tried and true and have been on there for years, I’m pretty sure if they tried to change it the locals would be up in arms. The Kedgeree with smoked fish and panfried Haloumi being at the top of the list – either of these washed down with a Champagne Cocktail complete with vodka soaked raspberries makes for a colourful afternoon. A trick for the young players: they’re not open on Sundays.
