I would describe Rye Bar as a third-date destination – too loud on your first date when you’re awkwardly trying to find out the details of the others life, and not quite where you want to be spending your fourth date, well because, it’s not your bedroom.
It’s dark and moody, and has enough dimly-lit corners to get acquainted well enough with your beau to decide if you want to continue the blossoming relationship.
The bartenders are extremely well-versed on all things boozy, the drinks are strong and the music is good. And while you’re in the neighbourhood, ask the locals why the suburb is called ‘Tenderloin’, you’re sure to hear some hilarious if not inappropriate antidotes.
