Named after the ancient Greek word for ‘delicacy’, Opso’s mediterranean fare harnesses elements of both tradition and modernity. Housed in a casual, laid-back corner of Marylebone, the clean, modern interior gives way to a contemporary menu of small dishes in mezze in ever-popular style. With versions of taramasalata (taramas cream) and pastitsio (usually a lasagne-like slab of macaroni baked with ground beef and béchamel sauce) given a modern update, Opso is a refreshing take on Hellenistic cuisine in the capital. Don’t forget desert either, the brioche-like tsoureki is a homely indulgence while the various cakes will leave you utterly enamoured.
