Arguably Blue Sydney is due for a spruce up with the signs of wear and tear becoming more apparent. But if you can look beyond the odd cracked tile in the bathroom, what you get at Blue is a fantastic location; just far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the inner city, to afford you a more local experience of what life in Sydney is really all about. Plus, the Marina View rooms boast panoramic views of Sydney’s skyline accented by striking harbour scenes. My hotel of choice for more than five years, I enjoy the hotel’s proximity to Potts Point, where my favourite cafes and restaurants are located, its walking distance to the inner city, but most of all, my early morning run through the Botanical gardens, past Mrs Macquarie’s Chair and along to the Opera House. This is a truly magical walking or running spot that rivals anything globally.
