I visit Scopa at least twice a week. It’s an honest, family-run Italian restaurant and has been my local for as long as I have lived in Wellington. It never fails to deliver on quality, great food, service or atmosphere. Located on the corner of Cuba and Ghuznee street, Scopa was the first restaurant opened by Wellington hospitality gurus Leonardo and Lorenzo Bresolin and after seven years in operation, is now regarded an institution on the Wellington dining scene.

The food is classic Italian pizza and pasta with Peroni on tap and a good selection of New Zealand and Italian wines by the glass. Try the Octopus Spaghetti with bone marrow, chili, and lemon Gremolata or share a Capriciossa pizza (prosciutto, salami, olive, artichoke, red onion).
