Perched on the shoreline in Sausalito, the luxury coastal hotel is an easy 30-minute ferry ride from San Francisco city, ideal if you’re feeling slightly frayed around the edges and are eager for small dosage city time rather than the whole in-your-face shibang. With only 29 apartment-like suites, a stay here will restore sanity, especially since the rooms are practically bent over the shoreline, with wraparound, floor-to-ceiling glass windows and roomy terraces that were no doubt designed with afternoon wines and peering through binoculars in mind. It’s unpretentious, laidback and will lull you into a far better frame of mind than you’ve had in years.
