Hidden behind an unmarked door amongst kebab shops, Bar Nightjar offers a respite from the trials of modern day life with a slice of old fashioned glamour and the thrill of a prohibition style speakeasy. Like many of London’s “secret” bars a vast range of contemporary and prohibition era cocktails are served in a dimply lit underground parlor, complete with grand piano and seven piece swing ensemble. However, in true prohibition style, Bar Nightjar gained criminal credibility when in was raided by police late last year for serving a cocktail of whale skin infused whisky, aptly named “The Moby Dick”.
