The waves pump here in winter and attract the world’s best surfers, especially when the Triple Crown takes place in mid-November, which is the last stop on the ASP World Surf Tour. I would recommend taking a picnic as there are no cafes to be found, although you do sometimes stumble across the odd food truck perched on the side of the road.
