A rotating group of regulars and amateurs spontaneously take to the stage every Tuesday night at Das Edelweiss jazz jam session. If you want to get a seat you’ll have to show up early, as it gets tightly packed, loud, smoky and hot. But if it’s already rammed when you arrive, the crowd here is so friendly they are always willing to step aside so you can squeeze through – always a good excuse to rub up against the sexy jazz-lovers that seem to be dripping from the sweaty walls. If you’re hungry when you stumble out around 4am, get a half chicken and chips from the Hühnerhaus just by the exit of Görlitzer park, it’ll be the best €3.50 you ever spend.
