AMSTERDAM.

Dutch architecture.

By Arjan Van Woensel

With its canals, renaissance architecture and approach to tight spaces it’s hard not to fall in love with Amsterdam.

Walk along the canals to experience the canal ring houses and then check out the new architecture on the KNSM/Java and Borneo Islands. Architecture students from all over the world come to visit and learn about this condensed way of building without losing the nation’s architectural vernacular. Better yet, don’t walk but rent a bike to experience Amsterdam in typical Dutch style.
