This is one of my favourite New Zealand bars, based purely on the impact of the facade upon arrival. Havana is housed within two neighbouring 19th century cottages. What appears to be a seemingly industrial area of Te Aro, tucked away on Wigan St and far removed from the usual hospitality haunts, Havana Bar is quirky and welcoming, bound to make you feel as though you’ve entered a friend’s house. When you arrive, the large bar is one of the first things you see. With a great cocktail list and equally impressive music; this destination spot might be a little off the beaten track, but well worth the detour. This is a guaranteed great night out with friends, just like a classic house party.
